The St. Michael the Archangel School Virtue Committee kicked off the first annual SMA Kindness Challenge Week from April 3 - April 9. The mission of the Kindness Challenge was to encourage the spread of kindness in our school, community, and homes to make our world a better place. The week kicked off with an energizing pep rally and offered several school-wide activities that included: recess kindness stations, a 50-item checklist of kind acts to complete throughout the week, a family-service project to support the First Hand Foundation and many other kindness-themed activities that the teachers incorporated into their morning work and lesson plans.
On the last day of the Kindness Challenge Week, our entire school assembled on the east field to spell out our Kindness Challenge Week motto -- BE KIND!
The community of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic School believes:
Be it known to all who enter,
Christ is the reason
for these schools,
the unseen but ever present teacher in our
classes, the model of our faculties,
the inspiration of our students.
Supports and advises the school administration and pastor in their effort to uphold the school’s mission, values and goals. The committee is open to all parishioners, with or without children enrolled at the school, with an interest in the school. The committee consists of nine appointed members, each serving a three-year term. Meets monthly, August through May.
