You are invited to participate in the Holy Hour in honor of this great feast. The blessed image of Jesus, the Divine Mercy will be on display, there will be confessions, and a public recitation of The Chaplet of Mercy.
Pope Francis reminded us that the name of God is “Mercy!” All are invited to the Holy Hour to immerse yourself in the ocean of God’s mercy. This is also a beautiful feast to pray for our families, for those estranged from the church, for conversions, for healing, or whatever need is on your heart.
A plenary indulgence is also granted on this day, to the faithful who, “in a spirit that is completely detached from the affection for a sin, even a venial sin, take part in the prayers and devotions held in honor of Divine Mercy, or who, in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament exposed or reserved in the tabernacle, recite the Our Father and the Creed, adding a devout prayer to the merciful Lord Jesus (e.g. Merciful Jesus, I trust in you!").”
Also, one must make a sacramental confession within 20 days of Divine Mercy Sunday, receive Communion, and pray for the Pope (an Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be).
Also, you may bring your Diving Mercy image to the Holy Hour to be enthroned for your home.
