Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC) assist the priest and deacon in sharing the Body and Blood of Christ with the faithful at Mass. Some EMHCs also take Holy Communion to the sick and homebound who are unable to join the community for the celebration of the Mass.
Training for new Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion takes places in two sessions. The first session covers the theology of the Eurcharist. The second session covers the practical instructions for EMHCs serving at Mass or taking Holy Communion to the homebound.
The next opportunity for training will be offered on the following dates:
Part 1 - Wednesday, April 26, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the St. Gabriel Room
Part 2 - Homebound Ministry - Wednesday, May 3, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the St. Raphael Room
