“Brothers and sisters, we believe that God desires to renew his church, and that this renewal will happen through you. And then, in renewing his church, he will renew the world,” - Bishop Cozzens, board chairman of National Eucharistic Congress, Inc.
“Anyone who has truly experienced God's saving love does not need much time or lengthy training to go out and proclaim that love” (Evangelii Gaudium, no. 120).
Throughout the National Eucharistic Revival, local communities are gathering tinder in response to God’s invitation for renewal, calling on the Holy Spirit to bring the flame. In keeping with this vision, the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage will accompany Jesus from city to city, lighting hearts on fire along the way. We have the honor of being stop 100 of 150 along our route that begins in San Francisco; then, at the National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis, all these flames will blaze together at the opening session.
Jesus is coming to YOU.
Join us as we host a stop along the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage on June 27th.
Shortly after his Resurrection, Jesus accompanied two disciples on their journey from Jerusalem to Emmaus—walking with them in their grief, offering hope, and finally revealing himself through the breaking of the bread. Jesus wants to do the same for YOU!
This will be one of the largest Eucharistic pilgrimages in history. Just as crowds followed Christ throughout his earthly ministry, our nation will process with our Eucharistic Lord through cities, along highways, and past rural towns on his way to the 10th National Eucharistic Congress. In hosting a stop along the way, we are the only extended stop in Johnson County and only one of 9 stops total in the state of Kansas. We expect pilgrims from across the state and region to join us here at St Michael the Archangel for the evening of June 27th.
Large crowds followed him, and he healed them there. -MATTHEW 19:2
An evening of healing and public testimony of our faith on June 27th.
The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage is a truly unique initiative. This is something NEW—a beautiful fusion of the journey TO Jesus and the journey WITH Jesus. It is an adventure that all Catholics can do together, either by interior disposition or physical accompaniment. A pilgrimage is “the simultaneous movement of the feet and the soul”—a journey made both externally and internally. The value is not in the distance traveled but in the disposition of our own hearts and the zeal with which we seek God.
Jesus doesn’t want us to walk alone. At the Incarnation, Christ entered directly into our human experience, allowing him to accompany us through life in a more intimate way. When Jesus gave us the gift of the Eucharist, he gave us a new way to walk alongside him. Catholicism now has a vibrant history of Eucharistic processions! In this tradition, the Eucharist is carried through the streets, accompanied by the faithful. We walk publicly with Our Lord down Nall Ave. from 135th to our campus so that others may encounter him personally, just as they did 2,000 years ago. After the public Eucharistic procession we will have adoration and then our 5:30 pm Mass. The evening will conclude with a special Cenacle Night from 7-9pm.
"The Pilgrimage will be a powerful, once-in-a-lifetime witness of how Jesus Christ comes close to us and invites all to encounter him in the Eucharist."
-BISHOP ANDREW COZZENS
CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS,
NATIONAL EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS
Eucharistic Adoration
Jesus is waiting for you in our Perpetual Adoraiton Chapel - waiting to love you, hear you, fill you, and transform you. Give Him the chance to do so simply by going to be in His presence.
Click here to sign up for a weekly hour. The chapel is open daily from 9-4 p.m. for anyone who would like to spend time with Jesus in the Eucharist.
Also encounter Jesus in our Eucharistic Cenacles - a time of Eucharistic Adoration, Praise and Worship Music, and listening to the Lord speak to our hearts together (see flyer above.)
Daily Mass
“Love Jesus present in the Eucharist. He is present in a sacrificial way in Holy Mass, which renews the Sacrifice of the Cross. To go to Mass means going to Calvary to meet him, our Redeemer." - St. John Paul II
There is no greater way to grow in your relationship with Jesus than praying the Holy Mass as often as possible. Add another daily Mass to your week (or a few more!) and experience the difference it makes.
