On March 9th, St. Michael School’s 8th Grade F.B.I. (Faith Beating Injustice) hosted a Hunger Banquet for their fellow middle school students, parents and faculty.
Participants were assigned at random to receive a lunch of either unlimited food, one serving of a simple meal, or a meal of rice & beans. Throughout the event there were activities to foster learning about global hunger and how our faith calls us to respond.
Special thanks to Deacon John Weist who served as Master of Ceremonies, to the Knights of Columbus for donating and preparing meals – especially Mike Pollock, Mark Mareski and Don Puchalla – and to the Honduras Committee for donating the rice and beans and providing volunteer support.
Congratulations to the F.B.I. for leading this powerful Lenten event!
