Hospitality is a hallmark of the Christian life. The word "hospitality" comes from the Greek word, "hospes," meaning "healing love." Every act of kindness and hospitality is a response to the overwhelming mercy and love of God in Jesus Christ, who is the true Host in his Church. Everyone is called to participate in this ministry of love.
Greeters welcome members and guests as the enter our parish church, which is the Domus Dei (the "House of God" and the Domus Ecclesiae (the "House of God's People.") This is a great ministry for families, for individuals who are naturally out-going and sensitive to the presence and needs of others. Sign-up HERE.
Ushers assist with hospitality by guiding the movement of people in an out of the church, helping worshippers find seats, identifying and inviting Gift Bearers to bring bread and wine to the altar, taking up collections, and being attentive to the needs of worshippers during the liturgy. Ushers are scheduled in teams at a specific Mass for an entire month every quarter. Sign-up HERE.
