The proposal happens, and a whirlwind of excitement follows! As things settle down andyou begin to make plans, where should you turn first?
When thinking of marriage preparation you might automatically think of “wedding planning” and all the details of the ceremony and reception. Yes, you are preparing for your wedding day, but you are also preparing for marriage itself, the lifetime commitment you are about to make! For that reason St. Michael emphasizes a focus on marriage preparation and then wedding preparations! It is important to be discern well and plan together for the responsibility you are accepting for a lifetime!
We celebrate weddings at St. Michael for members and members children. If you are not a member of St. Michael the Archangel, contact your parish or the parish in whose boundaries you reside. If you live within the boundaries of St. Michael the Archangel but are not yet registered, contact Mary Connor to become a member.
Before anything else, even choosing a date, you must meet with a priest! Contact our Liturgy Coordinator, Janel Butler, who will connect you with a priest and guide you through the process.
It is extremely important to wait until meetingwith a priest before booking a venue, vendors, and even a church! A church may be available, but the priest may not be. A Catholic wedding needs a Catholic priest, so make sure you have one on your team before moving forward!
Weddings at St. Michael are celebrated on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday at 11:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m.
Couples getting married at St. Michael have a great team behind them! We are here to walk you through the very first phone call, marriage preparation, and liturgy details. As your engagement progresses, we will keep in touch to help you find the proper classes/resources, make reading and music selections, and plan your procession.
