VOLUNTEER HERE
Red Bag is a wonderful opportunity to give to children in need for the holidays. Without our donations these children will likely receive very little or even nothing for Christmas. St. Michael the Archangel generously gives each year to these children. Last year, we were able to adopt over 150 children, who, without your help would have had a much different Christmas.
How does Red Bag work?
If you choose to sign up for a child you will receive the child's information and items needing to be purchased. This includes MANDATORY items such as clothes, underwear, winter coat, etc. The list also has a "wish list" of a few items that the child is asking for for Christmas. These wish list items are not mandatory to purchase, but are strongly encouraged. You will receive your child's information in early November. After purchasing the gifts you will wrap them and deliver them to the designated drop off house. All gifts will be due NO LATER then November 24th!
If you have questions please email Molly Farwell at [email protected] or Chrissy Knopke at [email protected]
Our Red Bag program works with Red Bags Kansas City (Christmas Families, Inc.) a grassroots organization that for 34 years has brought the spirit of the holidays to more than 50 families and 1500 foster kids every December. This program provides needy children in the Kansas City area with a Christmas they would not otherwise have. Parishioners have the opportunity to adopt a child and purchase items from their wish list, as well as essential items such as clothing, shoes, and coats. In the past, St. Michael has adopted over 150 children and has been one of the largest contributors to this program. For more information about Red Bag KC: redbagskc.com.
