Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, congregational singing has currently been suspended. When assembly singing resumes, it will be at first limited to the essential elements of the liturgy that are intended to be sung by the congregation, namely the dialogues between the priest and the people, acclamations, and the "Ordinary" of the Mass: the Kyrie, Gloria, Sanctus, and Agnus Dei.
The parts of the Mass that change from day to day (the "Proper") will continue to be sung by the Cantor or Schola. The singing of additional hymns and songs will resume sometime in the future. In the meantime, all are encouraged to pray and sing the "Hymn of the Week" at home.
