The VINE is a six-week faith sharing series hosted in parishioners' homes. The goal of the VINE is friendship with Christ and friendship with each other. Through the six weeks of the VINE, parishioners discuss the scriptures about salvation history so that they know our story: the reality of the fall, what God has done to save us, who Jesus is and our call to be disciples of Jesus.
The VINE is not a program. It’s not a bible study whereby a person checks a box and says, “OK, I’ve finished that - what’s next.” The VINE is for those who seeking to be formed as missionary disciples. A disciple is a follower of Christ. A missionary disciple is a disciple on mission. Our mission as Christians is to go and make disciples.
At the conclusion of the VINE, parishioners are invited to reflect on three questions:
1) What is the next step in my own spiritual journey? Is it to commit to daily meditation? Get back to regular Sunday Mass attendance? Go to confession?
2) Who are three people that the Holy Spirit is inviting me to invest into the VINE? Evangelization begins with prayer. Pray about the people in your life. Who is the Holy Spirit asking you to reach out to?
3) Pray about hosting or co-hosting the VINE in your own home. We are all called to take seriously our call to go and make disciples!
Pray about joining the VINE. If you are interested on have any questions, e-mail Deacon John Williams at john.williams@stmichaelcp.org or (913)402-3943.
